Bridport History Society was founded in 1995 by the late Cecil Amor to promote interest in, and research into, all aspects of local history and wider historical matters. Membership is open to all and offers:

  • Talks on a wide range of topics of local and wider historical interest
  • An opportunity to engage in discussion of matters of historical interest
  • A forum for sharing information on members’ own research and projects
  • Bridport History Society Journal – in abeyance (accessible at Dorset History Centre)
  • Bridport History Society Newsletter – occasional
  • Bridport History Society Journal Contents List 1995 – 2020 (accessible at Dorset History Centre)

Bridport History Society is always keen to hear from Members, or potential Members, who may be able help us in the running of the Society with their experience, skills and abilities.  If you think you might be able to offer something, please contact the Society's Chair.
